What if my bottle breaks?
If your bottle breaks within 6 months of purchase, send us a pic, and we will happily replace it for half price! If it breaks in transit, send us a pic when it arrives, and we’ll replace it immediately at no cost. Nozzles can be replaced for $2 plus shipping.
But the nozzles are plastic!
It’s true, and a bit ironic that a company dedicated to reducing plastic use is using plastic nozzles, but at this moment, there are no better options. We tested every nozzle on the market and found this one to be the best performing and sturdiest (and therefore needs to be replaced less often). It’s made of BPA-Free, High-density polyethylene, or HDPE. At the end of its life, it can be disassembled and recycled with the rest of your #2 plastics via most curbside programs.
What is Borax? What is Washing Soda?
Borax*, also known as Sodium Borate (NOT boric acid), is a naturally occurring mineral powder used in everything from cleaning supplies to pest control to beauty products.
Washing Soda*, aka, sodium carbonate or soda ash is made from minerals such as trona or limestone. Its high alkalinity allows it to lift stains and grease with ease. You can even make washing soda yourself by heating baking soda in the oven to change its chemical composure, but that’s a story for another day.
Both can be found at your local hardware store or online here.
*Like many household cleaning ingredients, these should not be ingested or come in contact with your eyes but are otherwise safe to use as a cleaning agent. Your safest bet is to wear gloves when mixing either of these ingredients.
Can I make my own custom cleaning solutions in these bottles?
We printed our favorite and most effective recipe right onto the bottle so you always have it on hand. If you prefer to tinker with your own concoctions, there are fill lines (measuring both oz and mL) printed on the bottle as well.
How do you give back?
The biggest way we give back is by researching and educating our customers and followers about easy ways to reduce waste and leave a lighter footprint on this planet. You can read our blog and follow us @unfetteredhome on Instagram and Facebook to start learning!
In addition, we donate 10% of our profits to #breakfreefromplastic, a reputable non-profit whose goal is to “bring systemic change through a holistic approach tackling plastic pollution across the whole plastics value chain, focusing on prevention rather than cure, and providing effective solutions.” You can learn more at breakfreefromplastic.org
